Privacy policy
Last updated 9 October 2026 · applies to Fish Scouter on the web and in the iOS and Android apps.
Fish Scouter is a service of Florida Tackle Supply (“we”), run on the ONEFLOW platform. This page says what we collect, why, who else sees it, and how to delete it.
What we collect
- Your account — your email address and, if you give it, your name. If you set a password we keep only a one-way hash of it. A passkey leaves us only its public key. Sign-in codes are emailed to you and kept, hashed, for ten minutes.
- Where you fish — the place you look at in the app (a searched place, the map, or your device’s position) is used to read tides, weather and the bite there, and the last one is saved to your account so the app opens on your water next time.
- Your device’s location — only when you tap a “my location” or “here” button, and only with your permission. The position is kept on your device for 24 hours so distances can be measured from you; it is sent to us only as the place you asked about.
- What you add — spots you save or import (private to you unless you choose to share one with the shop), catches you log and their photos, and your boat profile.
- Membership — your plan, its status and renewal date. Payment is handled by Stripe; your card number never reaches us.
- Tackle orders — the items, totals, your email, and the delivery name, address and phone.
What other members see
- A catch you log appears on the feed with your first name and a location rounded to roughly the nearest mile — never the exact spot.
- The leaderboard shows your first name and last initial with your points.
- A catch photo is stored at a web address that anyone holding the link could open.
- Your saved spots, boat, email and orders are never shown to other members.
Who else handles it
- Stripe — membership payments on the website, and tackle-order payments.
- Apple, Google and RevenueCat — when you subscribe inside the iPhone or Android app, Apple or Google takes the payment and RevenueCat tells us your membership is active; they see your purchase and an app user id, not your catches or spots.
- Shopify and the shop’s ONEFLOW books — to fill and record tackle orders.
- Resend — sends sign-in codes and order receipts.
- Vercel — hosts the app and stores catch photos.
- Anthropic — when you lay a fish on a ruler, the photo is sent to Anthropic’s AI to read the length; it isn’t used to train their models.
- OpenStreetMap’s Nominatim — the place search box sends what you type to find it on the map.
- Esri and OpenStreetMap — map imagery is loaded from their servers, which see your device’s IP address and the map area requested, as with any map.
- Tides, weather and water data come from public sources (NOAA, USGS and others); we send them a place, not who you are.
We don’t sell your data, we don’t show ads, and there are no advertising or cross-app tracking tools in Fish Scouter.
Cookies and storage
One cookie keeps you signed in (up to 60 days, less if you untick “remember me”). Your device also remembers a few preferences — light or dark, how you fish, your cart — in its own storage.
How long we keep it
For as long as you have an account. When you delete it, everything above goes at once, except tackle orders: the shop must keep a record of each sale for tax and accounting, so an order keeps its items, totals, date and the delivery city, state and ZIP, and loses your name, street, phone and email in Fish Scouter. The shop’s own copy of the sale in its store and accounting system (the invoice and what was shipped where) is kept as its sales record, and payment records Stripe holds are kept under Stripe’s own obligations.
Your choices
- Delete your account any time: in the app, You → Delete account, or on the web at Delete your account.
- Delete any spot or catch yourself, or turn off location for Fish Scouter in your phone’s settings.
- Ask us what we hold about you, or to correct it, at floridatacklesupply@gmail.com.
Children
Fish Scouter is not directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their information.
